PAG-IBIG Fund has offered financial assistance with solar panel installation after Mindanao’s premier provider of solar power for homes welcomes its new loan window for residential solar power systems under Pag-IBIG’s Home Improvement Loan product.
In several households, one of the utility bills that take a huge cut from the monthly earnings of the family is the electric bill.
With the Greenergy Solar PH based in Cagayan de Oro City, many Cagay-anons now already found a solution to pull their electric consumption down – through the installation of solar panels. However, truth be told that the installation of solar panels may be pricey and everyone is not ready to fund it in cash.
The good thing for Pag-IBIG Fund members is that they have something to turn to – the Pag-IBIG Home Improvement Loan offers which cover green projects like installing solar panels.
This move by the government financial institution could even be a game changer as demand for just transition from environmentally hazardous and global warming use of fossil fuels to renewable energy increases, said in a statement Friday.
“This is a just option for power consumers who have longed for an affordable, efficient, and clean power source for their homes,” said Greenergy Solar PH founder and CEO Engr. Cerael D. Donggay.
Since its inception in 2017, Greenergy has powered homes, businesses, hospitals, and government offices with state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic power systems. Its solar power installed capacity has grown to almost 4 megawatts in six years.
This unprecedented growth is a testament that power consumers are ready to shift to renewable energy, particularly solar power, said Donggay, who noted that their installed solar power capacity is around four-fold of the 1-MW on-grid solar power farm owned by a subsidiary company of the Cagayan de Oro Power and Light Company (Cepalco) established in 2004.
The solar power plant in Barangay Indahag was once Southeast Asia’s biggest on-grid solar power plant.
Greenergy is encouraging members of the Pag-IBIG fund to avail of the loan for home solar power systems.
The company said Donggay is ready to offer turn-key services for those who want to avail of the loan window from Pag-IBIG Fund.
As the country heats up due to the overuse of fossil fuel, it is time to hire the sun for our power needs, said Donggay.
Pag-IBIG’s new loan product is open for members who have at least 24 months’ savings in the government agency and has no foreclosed, canceled, or loan bad record. There are documents that you must prepare and submit in applying for the loan offer. Feel free to visit www.pagibigfund.gov.ph for the full list of requirements.
